Unique partnership between UAW / AAI Training Center and local High Schools;
The students in Mr. Chip Greene's Machine Trades classes (Huron HS) served as the first high school group to train at the Auto Alliance International's Flat Rock facility. Mr. Ted Szenborn, UAW skilled trades training coordinator, and numerous other skilled trades personnel served as mentors during the two-week training sessions.
Our students participated in training modules covering areas such as hydraulic / pneumatic, electrical, mechanical and CNC machining systems. Each team of students was responsible for completing a series of steps and problems in a computer driven curriculum using the hands-on modules. The training session also included a plant-wide tour of the Mustang assembly plant and facilities.
Partnerships between the High Schools and Industrial leaders such as AAI are made possible by our membership in the Downriver Career Technical Consortium (DCTC) that provides career technical education opportunities for our students.
